Back to the Future: ESN National Event 2022

I was the Head of Communication for the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) 2022 Back to the Future National Event that took place in Barcelona, Spain. This event happens twice a year and all the international students that are currently studying in Spain come to Barcelona for a weekend of culture and fun. As head, I was in charge of developing the identity of the event and all the merchandising and communication strategy according to it while managing a team of three other volunteers that helped me out with the communication campaign and during the event itself.

The Logo

 

The Back to the Future logo was inspired by the movie called by the same name but reimagined as if it had come out in 2022. The shape of the K is used to create a back «<» symbol and to compensate the visual weight of the logo. The type used is a combination of two different versions of a display type called Jaapokki (enhance and subtract).

Social Media Campaign

 

We had to develop content for the Back to the Future event’s instagram page (@eventonacionalesn) and for the sections individually to promote the event amongst their international students currently living in their city. Some of the content developed for the event’s page was: meet the organisers post, landmarks in Barcelona and Barcelona through Movies and Songs.
